Mike Prado is an executive at Snap, Inc. (Snapchat), a technology platform with nearly 1 billion monthly users worldwide. Serving as its Director of Global Law Enforcement Operations, he oversees a vast department embedded in multiple countries that work 24/7 to respond to and assist law enforcement with investigations involving the platform, while improving processes and increasing efficiencies to ensure Snapchat delivers best-in-class service to the U.S. and international law enforcement community.
Prior to joining Snap, Mike served for 24 years in federal law enforcement, most recently as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) as the Deputy Assistant Director of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). At HSI he led the DHS Cyber Crimes Center (C3), the U.S. government’s preeminent law enforcement center devoted to combating cyber and cyber-facilitated transnational criminal activity. C3 supports all HSI domestic and international field offices in a broad spectrum of cyber investigations, including online child sexual exploitation and abuse, network intrusion, and illicit activity on the dark web, to include narcotics and weapons trafficking. He also oversaw HSI’s Computer Forensics program and led programmatic oversight and coordination of all cyber training, outreach, and specialized solutions to counter illicit use of technologies.
During his federal law enforcement career Mike was previously the Deputy Special Agent in Charge of HSI Charlotte and the Carolinas, served as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff for the Deputy Director and Director of ICE, respectively, served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the HSI Washington DC office and was Division Chief of C3. Other positions he held include serving as a congressional liaison, Chief of Domestic Operations, and Resident Agent in Charge of the California Central Valley. Mike is a graduate of the DHS Senior Executive Service Career Development Program, where he completed an assignment as Deputy Director of the DHS Joint Requirements Council.
